Dhorpatan: The Nisikhola-Rukumkot road section in Baglung district of the Mid-Hill Highway has been disrupted due to incessant rains for the past few days.

Floods at Dharamshala, near the border of Nisiikhola Rural Municipality 4 and 5 and at Khadukhola of Kalapaira -2, have disrupted the Highway since last night. Nisikhola-4 ward chair Tikanidhi Poudel said their efforts to restore the Highway continued, but it has not been possible yet.

Travelers heading to Kathmandu, Pokhara, and other destinations from Rukum East are stranded at Kalapaira. Similarly, vehicles bound for Nishi from Burtibang, East Rukum, and Rolpa from Bhalkot are stuck at Kanabagar. The monsoon rains triggered floods and landslides, causing significant damages to various sections of the highway. Khadu and Kalapaira areas are severely affected, making the rural roads in Nisikhola inoperable. These landslides pose a threat to the highway, which is considered a national pride project.
