Rukum East: The Rukum East road section of the Mid-Hill Highway has been obstructed by a landslide at Bhume Rural Municipality-4, halting the vehicular traffic.

As a result of the road obstruction since this morning, vehicles have been stuck in midway stranding passengers, said Chief District Officer Madhav Prasad Sharma.

Efforts are ongoing to remove debris, said Inspector, Armed Police Force, Satya Bahadur  Budhathoki.

Saying that there is coordination with a construction company in removing debris, he said a rock-breaker is required to clear the road as the landslide has deposited big rocks on the road, he said.  Things have become difficult as landslides continue, he said.

An ambulance carrying a patient from Kathmandu also got stuck at the incident site. The patient was taken past the site on foot, and sent off to a hospital on a vehicle, said Sharma.
