Sagar SJB Rana’s book ‘Kingdom Lost’ launched in Kathmandu

‘Kingdom Lost’ is a sequel to Rana’s previous book ‘Singha Durbar’ published in 2017. The former covers the period till the fall of the Rana regime in 1951, the latter starts off in 1951 and ends in 2008.

Kathmandu: Kingdom Lost, the book penned by Sagar SJB Rana, who  is also the author of his previously acclaimed volume Singha Durbar was launched in Kathmandu on Thursday.

The book chronicles political events from 1951 to 2008–from when the Rana regime came to an end to when the country embarked on a republican journey.

“The book is primarily based on  interviews with various political actors,” said Sagar SJB Rana while addressing the audience that comprised government ministers, politicians, academicians, diplomats, scholars and journalists.

The book was jointly launched by former Speaker Daman Nath Dhungana, CPN-UML leader Raghuji Pant, historian John Whelpton and writer Rana. Dhungana, Pant and Whelpton commented on the book published by Rupa Publications, India. 

Kingdom Lost is a sequel to Rana’s previous book Singha Durbar which was published in 2017. While Singha Durbar covers the period till the fall of the Rana regime in 1951, Kingdom Lost starts off in 1951 and ends in 2008.
