Lalita Niwas land grab: District court issues arrest warrant against four former ministers

The court order paves the way for Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) to arrest these former ministers and speed up the investigation process.

Kathmandu: Kathmandu District Court on Sunday issued arrest warrant against four former ministers in connection with their alleged involvement in forgery of documents to transfer public land of Lalita Niwas in the names of the individuals. The court issued arrest warrant against former Deputy Minister and Minister of Physical Planning Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar, former minister of land reforms Chandra Dev Joshi, another former minister for land reforms Dambar Shrestha and former state minister Sanjaya Kumar Shah, informed DIJ Kuber Kadayat, central spokesperson of Nepal Police.

This has paved the way for Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) to arrest these former ministers and speed up the investigation process. Corruption case against them is sub-judice in the district court.  Earlier the court had released Gachhadar on bail and Shrestha on general date of presence.
