Kathmandu: After continuous heavy rainfall since Monday night, several areas in the Kathmandu Valley have experienced flooding.

Squatter settlements in Teku, Thapathali, and Kapan areas within the Capital have been submerged due to the relentless downpour.

Likewise, in Bhaktapur, locations such as Hanuman Ghat, Ram Mandir, Shanti Niketan School, and Siddhi Memorial Women and Children Hospital have been inundated as floodwaters from swollen rivers surged into these areas.

The Kathmandu Valley has been hit hard by substantial rainfall, leading to river floods and the flooding of settlements along the riversides. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has indicated that Nepal will continue to experience rainfall for the upcoming days due to the monsoon’s low-pressure trough positioning further north than usual. Also, the Flood Forecasting Division has released a warning, advising individuals to avoid approaching the swollen rivers and streams caused by the heavy downpours.

On Tuesday, police rescued 17 people trapped in floods in different areas of the Kathmandu Valley.
