Sankhuwasabha: Two inmates died when a fight broke out at Sankhuwasabha District Jail in Sankhuwasabha in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Aakash Balami, serving jail term for theft, and Binod Tolangi, convicted in rape, according to DSP Birendra Godar of Sankhuwasabha Police.
Earlier they had tried to escape the prison by breaking the window glass of a jail toilet. After they were taken under control and sent back to prison, a fight broke out inside the jail.
Both seriously injured were sent to a nearby hospital where they were pronounced dead by doctors.
