Kathmandu: Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police on Thursday arrested Sunil Sharma, a Nepali Congress lawmaker elected from Morang-3, on charge of projecting himself as a doctor based on fake certificate. CIB had launched operations against the individuals who practiced medicine as doctors by producing fake certificates in 2015 but he was able to escape. Sharma, along with others, was able to flee the country then.

Sharma was found to have submitted fake certificates at Nepal Medical Council and practicing medicine.  Sharma, however, fled the country in 2015 after sensing that he could be arrested based on same charges.
