Kathmandu: Koshi’s Chief Minister, Uddhav Thapa, got a vote of confidence from the Provincial Assembly on Monday.

Out of the 77 lawmakers present during the meeting, 47 supported the confidence motion presented by Chief Minister Thapa, while 30 opposed it.

Israil Mansuri, who chaired the provincial assembly, announced that the confidence motion put forth by Uddhav Thapa under Article 168(4) of the Constitution had been approved by a majority.

The meeting was initially called by Deputy Speaker Srijana Danuwar, who, however, left for Kathmandu early on Monday. As a result, Mansuri from the Nepali Congress chaired the assembly in her absence as part of the four-member presidium.
