Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that his upcoming visit to China would be focused on smooth operations of border points with China and opening more border points with the northern neighbor. The PM said this while responding to the questions raised by lawmakers in parliament on Tuesday. The visit will be centered on taking historical relations between Nepal and China to a new height and securing support for Nepal’s socio-economic development, the PM said. “Focus will be on implementation of the past agreements,” he said, apart from “strengthening economic and trade relations between Nepal and China, operating the border points between the two countries more effectively and opening more border points.

He also said issues of development assistance on roads, energy, agriculture, science and technology, connectivity and education among others will be discussed with priority.

PM Dahal is scheduled to embark on a trip to Beijing toward the end of September.
