Rasuwa: A woman has been arrested with a kilogram of gold about to be smuggled into the country. Pachemu Tamang, 41, a resident of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality-3 was arrested from the Miteri bridge on Saturday, according to District Police Chief Subas Budhathoki.
Tamang was arrested by border security personnel after she was found with a kilogram of the yellow metal she had brought from Kerung. She was entering Nepal through the Rasuwagadhi border crossing.
The woman who brought the gold was found ill and was admitted to Rasuwa Hospital for treatment. The police said that further investigation is underway.
