Nepali Congress Joint Secretary assaulted with sharp weapon

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress Joint Secretary Mahendra Yadav was assaulted with a sharp weapon in Kathmandu on Wednesday.  Yadav was returning after taking part in a program organized by Reporters’ Club.  One Shyambabu Sapkota, a resident of Nuwakot, is learned to have assaulted him.

Police have arrested Sapkota, said SSP Kumodh Dhungana, spokesperson at Kathmandu District Police Office. 

Yadav has been taken to Trauma Center in Bir Hospital for treatment following the incident.
