Kathmandu: Lawmakers urged the government to inform the House of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s upcoming visit to China and priorities and agenda of the visit in Thursday’s session of the House of Representatives (HoR).

Airing his views, CPN (UML)’s Raghuji Pant advised the Prime Minister to pay a visit to China after returning home from the United Nations General Assembly instead of embarking on the visit directly from the US. He urged the Prime Minister to take initiatives to operate direct flights to China’s various towns from Pokhara and Bhairahawa, and implement the BRI projects when it has been already signed. China could support Nepal in the development of reservoir-based hydropower projects, he added. The Prime Minister will be paying an official visit to the northern neighbor in the third week of September.
