Nepal’s health minister and his Egyptian counterpart discuss Nepal-Egypt relations

Kathmandu: Minister for Health and Population, Mohan Bahadur Basnet, and Egyptian Minister for Health and Population, Dr Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, held a meeting at the New Administrative Capital in Cairo. They discussed the various dimensions of Nepal-Egypt relations and bilateral cooperation, according to Nepali Embassy in Cairo.

Minister Basnet is in Egypt to participate in the World Conference on Health, Population and Development, 2023, taking place from September 5-8.

On the occasion, Minister Basnet talked about the achievements gained by Nepal in health and population sector and mentioned that the conference provided an appropriate opportunity to exchange experiences and good practices among the participating countries. Extending gratitude towards Egyptian government for providing scholarship to Nepali students in medical science as well as other subjects, he expressed the belief that financial, technical and people-to-people relations between the two countries would be further strengthened in the days to come. Similarly, Egyptian Minister Ghaffar shared that there is a friendly relations between Nepal and Egypt and thanked the Nepali delegation under leadership of Minister Basnet for its participation in the conference, according to the Nepali Embassy.  He said that there is a possibility of expansion of cooperation in different sectors including health and population between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Minister Basnet held an interaction with Nepalis living in Cairo on Wednesday. The interaction was organized by the Nepali Embassy. On the occasion, he pointed out the immense possibilities for increasing cooperation in medical and agriculture sectors between Nepal and Egypt.
