Swasthya Khabar Health Award today, Prime Minister to confer awards

Kathmandu: Nepal Live Group, the publisher of Swasthya Khabar Patrika, Nepal Live and Nepal Live Today, is organizing the 11th edition of Swasthya Khabar Health Award Friday evening. Swasthya Khabar Health Award is a flagship annual event of Nepal Live Group which honors the health professionals and organizations working on Nepal’s health sector with awards every year.  The award program enters its 11th year this year.

The award this year is being provided under the theme ‘SDG Goals: Health and Wellbeing for All.’ The award will be provided to the individuals such as doctors, nurses, paramedics, health professionals, policy advocates and organizations who have been contributing to Nepal’s health service delivery, policy reforms and research.

The award ceremony is expected to reinforce the stakeholders about the Nepal’s commitment to health related SDG goals and to keep health sector in top priority. “The award distribution program is also meant to reinforce the role of media and other stakeholders in contributing to achieving the SDG goals,” said Anil Nyaupane, the publisher and chairperson of Nepal Live Group. “We all know that without the promotion of effective health services, it would be difficult to achieve the SDG goals,” he said. “Without the solidarity of national level stakeholders for health sector reforms and discrimination-free health promotion, we won’t be able to understand the main spirit of SDG goals.”

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal is scheduled to provide health awards to various individuals and organizations working in Nepal’s health sector this evening.
