Kathmandu: The government is preparing to repatriate Nepalis stranded in the war-torn region of Israel.

Nepal Airlines, the national flag carrier, is scheduled to depart for Israel via a transit stop in Dubai at 11 PM on Wednesday to bring back the Nepali nationals, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Nepali Embassy in Israel had initiated an online registration process for those who wished to return to Nepal. This process received over 200 applications, demonstrating the urgency of the situation.

Hamas, Palestinian Islamist militant group, launched the deadliest attacks on Israel in years on Saturday, killing scores of people in a surprise assault that combined gunmen penetrating into Israeli towns with a barrage of rockets fired from the Gaza Strip, Reuters reported.

In the attacks, 10 Nepali nationals also lost their lives.

The foreign ministry in Kathmandu has said those in need can contact Nepali Embassy in Israel at +972(0)35168085, Ambassador Kanta Rizal at +972545864423, First Secretary Arjun Ghimire at +972528289300 or email at [email protected].
