State agencies directed to ensure accessible public transports in festive season

Kathmandu: The Chair of State Affairs and Good Governance Committee of the Federal Parliament, Ramhari Khatiwada, has directed the concerned state agencies to ensure accessible public transports on the occasion of this festive season. Chair Khatiwada on Sunday asked Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Prakash Jwala, Inspector General of Nepal Police, Director General of Department of Transport Management, Chief of Valley Traffic Police and other stakeholders for the management of easy and accessible public transportation.

He also drew attention of the agencies and officials towards exorbitant pricing of the tickets in public transportation and its shortage to those going home in the festive season. Likewise, Khatiwada instructed to bring a good plan of action and to effectively implement it through better coordination and interactions among the agencies working in the field of public transport management.
