Narayan Kaji Shrestha hospitalized in Beijing

Kathmandu: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Narayan Kaji Shrestha, who is presently on an official visit to China, has been hospitalized due to chest complications. The Minister has been admitted to the Peking Union Medical College in Beijing, as confirmed by his private secretary, Suresh Kaji Shrestha.

Shrestha suffered a mild heart attack and underwent a stent placement procedure for his heart. According to the Minister’s secretariat, the hospital has stated that he is out of a life-threatening situation. He is currently receiving intensive care unit (ICU) treatment. Shrestha is in China to participate in the third Belt and Road Forum representing the government of Nepal.
