Nepal’s Prime Minister appeals to join hands in rescue, and relief to quake victims

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the government was serious in relief, and rehabilitation to and treatment of injured people.

Prime Minister has also appealed to the political parties, private sector, and civil society for collaboration in the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation of quake-affected people.

He mentioned that he reached the earthquake-hit areas to take stock of damages caused by devastating earthquakes, to listen pain of victims, to rescue the injured, and to provide relief to quake survivors.

The earthquake measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale with its epicenter in Ramidanda of Barekot rural municipality-1 in Jajarkot occurred Friday night.

PM Dahal had reached the earthquake-affected areas along with the medical team and relief materials this morning. He met the injured ones receiving treatment at different hospitals in Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim and enquired about their health condition.

Urging the injured people not to panic much, PM Dahal assured locals that the government stands by them at this moment of crisis. Similarly, the government has already decided to provide Rs 50 million each to quake-hit Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim districts.

Prime Minister Dahal has called the cabinet meeting for Sunday morning to make necessary decisions for the relief of quake survivors.
