China provides 100 million rupees worth relief materials to earthquake victims

Following the devastating earthquakes in Rukum and Jajarkot on Friday, India, China and other friendly countries have been providing different kinds of support to Nepal.

Kathmandu: China has sent in various relief materials for the earthquake victims of Rukum and Jajarkot.  “The 100 million NPRs worth of disaster relief material from #CSACESRC, including 2,300 tents, 2,000 blankets, 700 tarpaulins, 500 sprayers entered Nepal through the Jilong-Rasuwa Port today,” the Chinese ambassador to Nepal, Cheng Song said on social media. Those materials will be directly sent to the earthquake-affected people, the ambassador wrote. “More Chinese aid is on the way. Together we will overcome difficulties and rebuild our home.”

Following the devastating earthquakes in Rukum and Jajarkot on Friday, India, China and other friendly countries have been providing different kinds of support to Nepal.

On Monday, two truck-loads of relief materials provided by India were dispatched along with a team of security persons towards Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim, the earthquake-hit region, from Nepalgunj Airport.

Ambassador of India to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava had on Sunday handed over the relief goods to Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Purna Bahadur Khadka. The relief materials include 625 units of plastic tarpaulin and tents, 1000 units of sleeping bags, 1000 blankets, 70 large-size tents, 35 packets of tent accessories, medicines and 48 other various articles, among others.
