COP 28: Nepal PM in Dubai to attend the convention

PM Dahal will be delivering a national statement on 'Call of the Mountain: Who Saves us from the Climate Crisis?' to raise voice of Nepal on climate change as well as promote mountain agenda in the COP negotiation process.

Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has reached Dubai of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), leading Nepal’s high-level delegation to the 28th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28). COP 28 is kicking off in Dubai from November 30 and will run till December 12.

He is scheduled to attend the high-level segment of the COP 28-World Climate Action Summit that runs from December 1 to 2. Similarly, he will be delivering a national statement on ‘Call of the Mountain: Who Saves us from the Climate Crisis?’ on December 2 on the side line to raise voice of Nepal on climate change as well as promote mountain agenda in the COP negotiation process.  

Ambassador of Nepal to the UAE, Tej Bahadur Chhetri and UAE’s Ambassador to Nepal, Abdulla Saeed Mubarak Jarwan Al Shamsi and officials at the Embassy of Nepal in UAE received the Prime Minister at the Dubai International Airport. Prime Minister Dahal is scheduled to visit the Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE. In the evening, the PM will address a program jointly organized by FNCCI and Dubai Chamber, stated the PM’s Secretariat. Prime Minister is also scheduled to attend the 52nd Union Day Celebration of the United Arab Emirates and Zayed Sustainability Prize Awards Ceremony hosted by the UAE. On December 2, Prime Minister is hosting a high-level side event entitled “Call of the Mountain: Who Saves us from the Climate Crisis?” to raise voice of Nepal on climate change as well as promote mountain agenda in the COP negotiation process.  In the margins of the High-Level Segment, Prime Minister will have bilateral meetings with heads of state, heads of government and other high dignitaries attending the Conference.
