Nepali national injured by gunshot in India

Kathmandu: A man from Biratnagar, identified as 28-year-old Nirdosh Sangroula, sustained a gunshot wound while in India. 

DSP Ranjan Dahal from the Morang District Police Office said that Sangroula had traveled to India on Sunday afternoon.

The gunshot incident occurred approximately 100 meters away from the railway station in India, hitting Sangroula in the thigh. He is currently receiving treatment at Koshi Hospital in Nepal, and DSP Dahal mentioned that Sangroula is now out of danger. 

Police have coordinated and reached the incident site, gathering information and initiating an inquiry.

DSP Dahal said that there were 8-10 people present at the scene, but obtaining detailed information from the victim has proven challenging. The identity of the individuals responsible for firing the gunshot remains unknown. 

“We haven’t been able to ascertain the identity of the individuals who fired the gunshot. The investigation is ongoing,” added DSP Dahal.
