Kathmandu: Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was physically attacked by a man identified as Mahesh Rai in Dhankuta district. The assault occurred in Mahalaxmi Municipality-5 while Oli, also the chair of CPN-UML, was on a visit from Bhojpur for a party-related program.
Police have already apprehended the assailant, Mahesh Rai, and have launched a thorough investigation into the incident. The motive behind the attack remains unclear as authorities work to gather more information.
