Sewa Lamsal promoted to secretary, becomes first female foreign secretary

Kathmandu: The government has promoted senior joint secretary Sewa Lamsal to the foreign secretary.

The cabinet meeting on Thursday decided to promote her to the position. With this, she has become the first-ever woman in the Foreign Service to take charge of the post.

According to government spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma, the cabinet decided to promote Nepal Army’s Major General Ashok Raj Sigdel to Lieutenant General.

Likewise, the meeting also decided to approve an action plan of energy supply increment and fossil fuel mitigation, 2080.
