Nepali national accused of defrauding 51 individuals arrested in UAE 

With the assistance of INTERPOL, Upadhyaya was arrested in the UAE and brought back to Nepal to face charges.

Kathmandu: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police apprehended a fugitive, Komalraj Upadhyaya, who had been on the run after committing fraud in the United Arab Emirates. 

With the assistance of INTERPOL, Upadhyaya was arrested in the UAE and subsequently brought back to Nepal to face charges. According to Navaraj Adhikari, the spokesperson of CIB and Superintendent of Police, Upadhyaya had an arrest warrant issued against him by the court for alleged fraud. 

The arrest in the UAE took place on Friday, and the extradition was carried out to facilitate legal proceedings in Nepal. The INTERPOL issued a red notice at the request of the Interpol branch of Nepal Police.

A total of 51 individuals had filed complaints against Upadhyaya, accusing him of collecting money from them under the pretext of securing employment in Dubai but failing to fulfill his promises.
