Protester injured in Balkumari dies

Kathmandu: A protester, who sustained injuries during the protest in Balkumari earlier today, has succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at KIST Hospital. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained. 

The atmosphere in the Lalitpur area escalated into tension on Friday afternoon as a group of enraged youths expressed their frustration by vandalizing and setting fire to the official vehicle of Prakash Jwala, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation. 

The incident occurred as youths protested over their inability to secure employment in South Korea through the Employment Permit System (EPS) program. The Korean Language test candidates demanded that they be allowed to appear for language tests for jobs in the manufacturing sector in South Korea.

In response, the police resorted to firing to bring the situation under control.

Police have arrested 19 protesters from Balkumari area.
