Tusker kills man in Jhapa

In the past four months, four people have lost their lives in elephant attacks in Jhapa district.

Baniyani (Jhapa): A man died in an elephant attack last night in Shivasatakshi Municipality, Jhapa. 

The District Police Office, Jhapa said that 45-year-old Megh Raj Rai of Dhudhe in the municipality died on the spot in the elephant attack while chasing away the tusker as it demolished the houses there at midnight.

With this, four people lost their lives in elephant attacks in the past five months in Jhapa district.  

According to spokesperson of District Police Office Jhapa, Khagendra Rijal, property worth Rs 150,000 was destroyed in the demolition by the elephant.
