Two MBBS students killed in road accident in Birgunj

Kathmandu: Two medical college students studying MBBS at Birgunj’s National Medical College and Teaching Hospital died in a motorcycle accident in Birgunj on Sunday morning. 

According to spokesperson Kumar Bikram Thapa of Parsa Police, the accident occurred as the motorcycle with registration number Pradesh 2-03-021 Pa 5432 lost its control. 

In the accident, both individuals suffered serious injuries, and they succumbed to their injuries in the order of treatment at Narayani Hospital in Birgunj. The deceased have been identified as 23-year-old Sandeep Yadav from Bara, residing in Haridia, and 23-year-old Sumit Yadav from Dhanusha, both pursuing MBBS at the National Medical College and Teaching Hospital, according to Thapa.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Narayani Hospital for post-mortem, and further investigations are being conducted on the incident.

Thapa said, “Both of them had suffered serious injuries in the accident, and they passed away during the course of treatment at Narayani Hospital in Birgunj. Police are conducting necessary investigations regarding the accident.”
