Police arrest fake doctor from Kathmandu

Kathmandu: A 40-year-old man masquerading as a doctor, identified as Dr Sambodha Bhattacharya, has been arrested by the Kathmandu Metropolitan Crime Division for allegedly treating more than 700 patients under false pretenses. The fake doctor was operating from Dhaulagiri Polyclinic and was taken into custody from Bansbari in Kathmandu.

According to police, Bhattacharya had been providing medical services in several policynics in Kathmandu. “He [arrested] posed as an endocrinology consultant.” 

Police have seized various fake credentials, including registrations from the Nepal Medical Council and an ID card from Teaching Hospital, from the arrested.
