Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has claimed that the government has successfully brought the failing economy to a state of gradual improvement.

Inaugurating the Eighth Nuwakot Mahotsav at Bidur of Nuwakot district on Friday, the PM noted that the country’s economy, which was in severe crisis when he took office some 13 months ago, is now on the right track.

“The indicators of the economy are now showing positive trends. We have achieved success through the concerted efforts of the Prime Minister’s Office, the Finance Ministry, and the Nepal Rasta Bank, after engaging in continuous discussions with domestic and international agencies and stakeholders,” the PM said.

Expressing confidence in maintaining the current pace of progress, the PM suggested that the country could move towards prosperity. “Bank interest rates have decreased, tourist arrivals have improved, revenue collection has increased by 10 percent, and foreign exchange reserves have reached an all-time high,” shared PM Prachanda.

He further highlighted a 30 percent increase in remittance inflow and an improvement in real estate transactions. Additionally, the PM revealed that the new budget for the upcoming fiscal year would focus on boosting production and generating employment.

The government is actively working to modernize the agricultural sector to enhance production and create more job opportunities. The PM expressed optimism about the country’s development and prosperity, citing ongoing discussions with neighboring countries for tourism development in Nepal.
