Kathmandu: Ten people have lost their lives in a road accident near the Surahi Bridge in Shivaraj Municipality-1 of the district earlier today.
The incident occurred around 1:00 am when a passenger bus with the registration number Su-Pa-Pra-02-001 Ba 0098, operated by Sunaulo Mahakali Transport, veered off the road on its journey from Mahendranagar to Kathmandu, plummeting 200 meters below.
Kapilvastu District Police Office confirmed that all ten fatalities occurred at the scene, and efforts to identify the victims are currently underway.
Also, thirty individuals sustained injuries in the accident. Nine of them have been urgently transferred to Butwal for further medical attention, according to Police Inspector Navaratna Paudel.
