Two foreign tourists die in Khumbu region

Salleri: Two foreign nationals, recently visiting the Khumbu region in Solukhumbu, have passed away. The individuals identified by the District Police Office, Solukhumbu, are 42-year-old Elizabeth Dairo from Britain and 26-year-old Wenshuo Dong from China.

According to Anil Kumar Mishra, information officer at the District Police Office, Solukhumbu, the British visitor, Elizabeth Dairo, was staying at a hotel in Gorakshep of Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality-4. She collapsed suddenly around 5:00 pm on February 14 and succumbed to her injuries shortly after. Dairo had arrived in Lukla on February 7 and was on her journey to the Everest Base Camp.

Similarly, the Chinese national, Wenshuo Dong, was discovered unconscious by passersby on February 13. Despite efforts made during the rescue operation, Dong did not survive. Dong had arrived in the region on February 6 and was returning from the Renjo La Pass at the time of the incident.
