Covid-19 goes unabated; 4,524 cases recorded in 24 hours

Kathmandu: Covid-19 cases graph continues to rise in Nepal with the country recording 4,524 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.

With new cases, active cases have jumped to 26,225.

A total of 15,681 samples were tested using RT PCR and antigen methods in various laboratories across the country, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

During the same time, 555 people recovered while 18 succumbed to the pandemic.

Nepal’s death toll stands at 3,194.

According to the Ministry of Health, Covid-19 was confirmed in 1966 people in Kathmandu Valley— 1,602 in Kathmandu, 240 in Lalitpur and 124 in Bhaktapur.

Cases surge with increased tests

Covid-19 cases have been increasing with an increase in tests.

April 23
On April 23, a total of 8,798 PCR and antigen tests were carried out. The country had recorded 2,449 cases on this day.

April 24
On April 24, 8,668 cases resulted in 2,619 positive Covid cases.

April 25
On April 25, 10,078 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours. The country witnessed 3,122 cases.

April 26
With 13,293 PCR and antigen tests performed, Nepal recorded 3,556.

April 27
On April 27, Nepal recorded 4,524 cases in the last 24 hours. Health Ministry said that 15,681 samples were tested during the period.
