Nepal to play friendly against Iraq

Kathmandu: Iraq will host a friendly football against Nepal at Basra International Stadium on May 29.

The friendly has been confirmed on Thursday.

Nepali national team has previously played three times against Iraq with Iraq emerging as victors in all three occasions. The latest of the match was in April 2001 when Iraq defeated Nepal 4-2 in World Cup Qualifier.

The friendly match against Iraq will be followed by a second round of World Cup Qualifiers against Chinese Taipei on June 3, against Jordan on June 7, and against Australia on June 11.

The three matches will be played in Kuwait.
