Kathmandu: The government has authorized four companies to import 55,000 vails of Remdesivir to be used for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.

Information officer at the Department of Drug Administration Santosh KC said that Asian Bangladesh has been allowed to bring 10,000 vials, Beacon Pharmaceuticals 10,000, Healthcare Pharmaceuticals 10,000, and Insectra 25,000.

Earlier, the department had permitted to import 30,000 vials of Remdesivir from Bangladesh last year alone.

KC said that the department gave permission to import Remdesivir due to an alarming increase in coronavirus cases.
