12 patients succumb to Covid-19 at Lumbini Provincial Hospital

Kathmandu: A total of 12 Covid-19 patients undergoing treatment at the emergency ward of Lumbini Provincial Hospital have succumbed to the pandemic.

According to the hospital’s Information Office Dr Bishnu Gautam, seven from Rupandehi, three from Kapilvastu and one each from Nawalparasi West and Pyuthan died while receiving treatment.

Out of them, five died from Monday midnight till 4 am today and four others from 4 pm on Monday till midnight.

Likewise, one succumbed to pandemic on Friday and another on Sunday, said Dr. Gautam.

According to Dr Gautam, they were all suffering from pneumonia caused by Covid-19.

“The situation is alarming. Over 100 patients are in critical condition’, said Dr Gautam, “The hospital is also running short of oxygen supply.”
