Prohibitory order in Kathmandu Valley extended by 15 days

Kathmandu: The prohibitory order clamped in Kathmandu Valley in a bid to stem the spread of Covid-19 has been extended by 15 days.

A joint meeting of Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur held on Tuesday decided to extend the prohibitory order till May 27, said Kathmandu CDO Kali Prasad Parajuli.

According to him, today’s meeting has also amended some rules. According to the new arrangement, the shop selling daily essentials will be now allowed to open till 10 am, a one-hour extension from the current provision.

Similarly, the meeting has also decided to close all the offices in the Kathmandu Valley except the essential ones. Likewise, transportation of private construction materials has also been banned, said CDO Parajuli.

The current prohibitory order was expiring on Wednesday midnight.
