Kathmandu: MetLife Foundation is contributing USD50,000 to America Nepal Medical Foundation’s (ANMF) efforts to provide essential medical care to vulnerable people impacted by the worsening Covid-19 crisis in Nepal.

ANMF is a non-profit organization founded by a group of Nepalese doctors which has been operating since 1997 with a vision of advancing healthcare in the country.

MetLife Foundation’s funding will support ANMF in providing medical supplies including but not limited to oxygen concentrators, high flows and other essential equipment to healthcare facilities from isolation centers to different hospitals in various parts of Nepal, the company said in a statement.

With high numbers of critical cases putting pressure on the country’s healthcare system, the funding will aid ANMF to reduce the burden to the existing healthcare infrastructure.

MetLife Nepal’s General Manager, Nirmal Kajee Shrestha, said, “At this time of need we are all trying to do our very best to give necessary assistance to the health and wellbeing needs of the people affected by this pandemic. MetLife believes that we can all make a difference, and I’m proud that MetLife Foundation is providing meaningful support to ease the suffering of the people during this tough period.”
