Kathmandu: The prohibitory order enforced in Kathmandu Valley in a bid to stem the spread of Covid-19 has been extended for 10 days with some relaxation.

A meeting of the Chief District Officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur, and Bhaktapur on Wednesday extended the prohibitory order until June 14.

According to the Bhaktapur CDO Prem Prasad Bhattarai, retail, grocery, food stores, and departmental stores have been allowed to open till 9 am each day. Earlier, only vegetable shops and other essential services were allowed to open.

Likewise, construction work can also resume with a boarding facility for the workers and following the prescribed health protocol. Construction materials have to be transported from 9:00 pm to 4:00 am. Human mobility remains prohibited as well as traffic, except for emergency and essential services. Other activities shall remain prohibited as per the previous decision.

The modification comes in wake of a declining rate of Covid-19 infection in the past few days.
