Nepal reports 6,825 new Covid-19 cases and 75 deaths; recovery rate stands at 81 percent

Kathmandu: The country has recorded an additional 6,825 new Covid-19 cases, taking the caseload to a total of 576,936 cases.

A total of 75 people died from the virus in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. The death toll has reached 7,630 with new fatalities.

Samples of 18,562 people were tested through the PCR method while 3,211 samples were tested adopting the antigen method in the last 24 hours.

Major parts of the country including the federal capital Kathmandu are under prohibitory order to curb the spread of the virus. There are 14,382 active cases in Kathmandu, 6,040 in Lalitpur, and 4,174 in Bhaktapur.

Meanwhile, 5,904 recovered in the past 24 hours and the country has 101,839 active cases. The recovery rate stands at 81 percent.

A total of 6,543 got discharged on May 20; 7,890 on May 21; 8,848 on May 22; 7,644 on May 23; 7,135 on May 24; 6,404 on May 25; 6,716 on May 26, 7,226 on May 27; 9,841 on May 28 and 6,080 on May 29.

Likewise, 6,205 people recovered from the pandemic on May 30; 6,491 on May 31; 6,898 on June 1; 7,219 on June 2 and 5,904 on June 3.
