Covid-19 Nepal: Active cases drop to 63,257; 2,745 fresh cases and 41 fatalities recorded in last 24 hours

Kathmandu: Active Covid-19 cases have started to drop in Nepal after the number of daily new recoveries surpassing new cases of coronavirus for the past few days.

A total of 4,187 people have recovered in a span of 24 hours in the country, while the number of new confirmed cases reported is 2,745, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The Ministry said Nepal has 63,257 active cases as of Tuesday afternoon. Nepal had 89,217 active cases on June 6; 85,544 in June 7; 82,736 on June 8; 80,336 on June 9; 77,858 on June 10; 75,275 on June 11; 71,301 on June 12; 68,966 on June 13 and 65,804 on June 14.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health said that 1,681 were diagnosed with the virus in PCR tests while 1.064 were confirmed positive in the test undertaken through the antigen method. Samples of 7,449 people were tested through the PCR method while 5,841 samples were tested adopting the antigen method.

According to the Ministry, 41 people succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 8,506.
