44 succumb to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours; 2,768 fresh cases and 4,020 recoveries registered

Kathmandu: The country has witnessed a total of 2,768 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population stated on Friday.

According to the Ministry of Health, 1,963 were diagnosed with the virus in PCR tests while 805 were confirmed positive in tests undertaken through the antigen method. Samples of 7,569 people were tested through the PCR method while 5,468 samples were tested adopting the antigen method.

Likewise, altogether 4,020 Covid-19 patients got full recovery during the period. The Ministry said that the recovery rate in Nepal is 89 percent.

According to the Ministry, 44 people succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 8,641.

Nepal currently has 59,624 active cases.
