Newly-appointed officials of constitutional bodies appealed to reject appointment on moral grounds

Kathmandu: A group of civil society members have appealed to the newly-appointed office-bearers of different constitutional bodies to reject their appointments on moral grounds.

They have urged the office-bearers not be an accomplice of acts executed by breaching the Constitution.

“The Prime Minister has not adopted a legitimate course in recommending names for appointment to the constitutional bodies. It is essential to ensure unanimous acceptance for appointment to the bodies,” reads the statement.

Twenty members of the society have strongly condemned the appointment made to different constitutional bodies by President Bidya Dev Bhandari on the recommendation of the Constitutional Council.
