President summons National Assembly’s session on July 1

Kathmandu: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has summoned the eighth session of the National Assembly at 4 pm on July 1 in the International Convention Center, New Baneshwor.

President Bhandari summoned the NA assembly as per Article 93 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers, according to a press statement released today from the Office of the President.

Prior to the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR), the sessions of both HoR and NA were being summoned for the same day. The seventh session of the NA had four meetings and received seven ordinances during the session period from January 1 to 10, 2021.

As per the constitutional provision, the duration between the two sessions of the House should not be more than six months.
