Kathmandu: Public vehicles that had remained off the road for the past two months started operation on Tuesday.

Vehicles with over 25-seat capacity have been allowed to operate in the Kathmandu Valley in an odd-even number rationing system.

As per the rules, public transport entrepreneurs are required to make sure the enforcement of public health protocols and physical distancing rules while operating the service. Drivers and their assistants and passengers should compulsorily put on masks and the sanitizer should be made available at the entrance of the vehicle during travel hours.

Assistant drivers are mandated to wear gloves and the vehicle should be disinfected regularly, according to the statement. The operation hours have been fixed from 6 am to 7 pm.
