Kathmandu: The CPN-UML has annulled its 10th National General Convention Organizing Committee. A meeting of the organizing committee held at Baluwatar on Wednesday transformed itself to Central Committee after Supreme Court didn’t recognize the committee.

Based on the demand from the dissenting faction of the party led by Madhav Kumar Nepal, the Standing Committee meeting held on Tuesday had decided to endorse the decision to revive the erstwhile Central Committee through the organizing committee.

A meeting of the Central Committee has been summoned for July 2.

The Nepal-led faction had been demanding revival of the Central Committee, before the unification of the CPN-UML with the CPN (Maoist Center) began.

The meeting also decided to nominate Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal, Lekhraj Bhatt, Top Bahadur Rayamajhi, Mani Thapa, Raghubir Mahaseth, Raghuji Pant, Bishnu Rimal, and Beduram Bhusal to the Standing Committee.
