Nepal records 33 Covid-19 fatalities and 2,760 cases in the last 24 hours; 548 succumb to pandemic in two weeks

Kathmandu: The country has witnessed a total of 2,760 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population stated on Thursday.

Likewise, altogether 4,017 Covid-19 patients got full recovery during the period. The Ministry said that the recovery rate in Nepal is 93.7 percent.

According to the Ministry of Health, 33 people succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 9,145.

A total of 1,857 were diagnosed with the virus in PCR tests while 903 were confirmed positive in tests undertaken through the antigen method. Samples of 7,130 people were tested through the PCR method while 3,855 samples were tested adopting the antigen method.

Nepal currently has 31,368 active cases.

Nepal recorded 548 deaths in two weeks. A total of 44 people succumbed to the pandemic on June 18, 34 on June 19, 51 on June 20, 46 on June 21 and 41 on June 22, 81 on June 23, 24 on June 24, 27 on June 25, 30 on June 26, 34 on June 27, 42 on June 28, 20 on June 29, 41 on June 30 and 33 on July 1.
