Kathmandu: The United States has provided four rescue boats to the Nepal Army (NA).

Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) Chief at US Embassy in Kathmandu Maj. Michael P. White handed over the boats to Brigadier General Ramnath Sharma at a ceremony at Chhauni on Tuesday.

NA believes that the water boats equipped with outboard motors will be very useful in rescue and relief work during water-borne disasters such as floods and inundations, said NA Directorate of Public Relations and Information.
