Nepal records 1,875 fresh Covid-19 cases as 1,286 recover in the last 24 hours

Kathmandu: A total of 1,875 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population stated on Thursday.

A total of 10,504 tests including 5,374 RT-PCR tests and 5,130 antigen tests were done. Nepal has witnessed 2,979 cases on Wednesday with 11,898 RT-PCR and antigen tests carried out in different laboratories across the country.

With these new cases, the total infected number has reached 651,380 in the country so far.

Likewise, altogether 1,286 Covid-19 patients got full recovery during the period. A total of 615,613 people have recovered from the pandemic so far.

According to the Ministry of Health, 29 people succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 9,320.

There are currently 26,447 active cases.

The average Covid-19 positivity rate in Nepal in the last seven days is 21.55 percent. The positivity rate was 21.69 percent on July 2, 22.97 percent on July 3, 19.71 percent on July 4, 22.74 percent on July 5, 20.92 percent on July 6, 25.03 percent on July 7 and 17.85 percent on July 8.
