2,905 new cases and 18 fatalities recorded in the last 24 hours; Covid-19 positivity rate at 22 percent

Kathmandu: The country has witnessed a total of 2,905 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population stated on Wednesday.

According to the Ministry of Health, 2,010 were diagnosed with the virus in PCR tests while 895 were confirmed positive in the test undertaken through the antigen method. Samples of 8,108 people were tested through the PCR method while 4,916 samples were tested adopting the antigen method. The positivity rate stands at 22.3 percent.

Likewise, 1,606 Covid-19 patients got full recovery during the period.

According to the Ministry, 18 people succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 9,430.
