National football squad trimmed to 36

Kathmandu: Head coach of men’s national football team Abdullah Almutairi has reduced his national team squad to 36.

The national team has been training in a closed camp to prepare for the SAFF Championship and AFC Asian Cup China Qualifier Final Round.

Goalkeeper Bishal Sunar, Amit Tamang, Bibek Basnet, Darshan Gurung, Dona Thapa, Gaurav Budathoki, Mikchen Tamang, Niraj Basnet, Nishan Khadka, Prizen Tamang, Ravi Paswan, Sesehang Angdembe, Shisir Lekhi and Sudil Rai have been left out.

Midfielder Bikram Lama has also been training with the national team to aid his recovery process. If fully fit, he may be considered for the national team.
